Newsletter No.2 – Summer 2018

Thank you to all those that managed to attend the Species evening on July 12th at Bucks Bridge Barn & The Sussex Wildlife Trust Land by kind permission of David & Marian Harding & Alice Parfitt of the Sussex Wildlife Trust. Evan Jones ( Local naturalist and member of our Steering Group ) gave an excellent talk and practical lesson on all species in our ditches! Many Thanks Evan! Our main highlights were the enormous Black bellied beetle we found ( as pictured), A water scorpion eating a spider for dinner and Evan managing to touch some larva with a tea spoon and getting it to squeak!

Lucy is currently working on the website, and we hope that this will be up and running live by September. This will be the go-to place to find all information on upcoming events & what’s going on, as well as what our mission is for this group over the next 3 years. Our next event will be in the Autumn. So in the mean time, a very happy August!
