Newsletter No.1 – May 2018

Thank you to all those that managed to attend the launch event at Montague in May. Lucy introduced herself and the event and Martin Hole chaired the meeting giving details on specific priority specie & the plan over the next 3 years.

What Happen’s next?

Following on from our launch event, we now have decided to run a Priority Species training event to help you to identify the 6 priority species. Lucy will then create a databank that can be viewed on the Pevensey Farmers Website (coming soon) This way, we can get a feel for which species are present on everyone’s holding. (There will be handouts with images for easy identification purposes.)

Predator control was also identified as being a topic that you wanted to focus on, so with that in mind there will be some management control leaflets being sent out shortly. We will be sending out information on the species event this month and these electronic newsletters will be sent out to you quarterly. The Facilitation fund is a very exciting way to interact with your farming neighbors & collaborate. We now have 50 farmers signed up into this fund, so we hope that it will prove to be a success for all involved.

For more information on any aspect of the fund, please contact the Facilitator: Lucy Carnaghan
